Southern Belle in Training

I'd like to start off by welcoming all my new readers stopping in from Two Thirds Hazel! Any friend of Erin's is a friend of mine! Plus, if you love to read her blog like I do, I happen to know we'd get along just great. Whichever one of you that wins that amazing giveaway is a lucky lady! If you haven't entered yet, don't miss out! That's a threat...

I'm currently enjoying some down time with my Momma bear in Charleston, SC & enjoying every second of it! Do I have any Charleston readers? This town is everything & more - I'm head over heals in love with it! The houses, the food, the history, the charm, the shopping - it's got it all and more! Throughout all of my travels around the US and even the world, I've never come across a more polite & kindhearted city of people! This is the only place I've ever enjoyed being 24 and referred to as ma'am! I even texted my boyfriend today to tell him it wouldn't take too much convincing to get me to move here one day. I'll gladly become a southern belle here with my double front porched house overlooking the water - a girl can dream!

Here are some snaps from around the town so far! Follow me on Instagram to keep up!

A vintage spoon from 1935 turned into a ring! Antiques = LOVE!

Recycled wine bottle bottom turned into a candle - that come in different wine scented choices, might I add! More to come about this gem.

Now this is a cause I can definitely get on board with! "Save the earth. It's the only planet with wine."

What better way to scream "I'm a tourist"? But hey, it was efficient!

Future carriage puller/tour guide! Meet Honey :-)

Yep I'd take any of those charming houses, sure thing! I should add that these are the more modestly sized ones! Im trying to be practical, you know? You should be the big kahunas! They are like a dream, or a reality when I win the powerball. But seriously, I'm such a sucker for southern charm and a big front porch! I blame it on The Notebook!

Also for all my animal lovers out there, I too was a little hesitant about the carriage tours. But I must say, Charleston takes great care of their horses/mules! They only do 6 tours a day each, get 30 minute breaks after each ride, and are checked by a vet each day! Our horse, named Facebook, was capable of pulling 6,000 pounds so our little carriage was like a piece of cake for that handsome fellow! He was a big boy & received so much love from our tourguide, which put my heart at ease!

As my new southern friends would say -
All's good here, have a great Thursday, y'all!

  1. The house that the Notebook was filmed in is called Boone Hall Mansion and is located right outside of Charleston (just FYI) but what a beautiful city!!

  2. Omgosh I love love love Charleston. I was literally just there visiting a couple of weeks ago. I also went on the Palmetto carriage tours! It was super touristy, but such a blast. And of course I visited the Charleston market and got one of the rewined candles. A bloggy friend actually told me to be on the look out for them before I even went. Hope you have even more fun the rest of your visit.

  3. Sounds like a blast! If you like southern charm and cheesy television check out "Hart of Dixie" I think it is on Netflix or Hulu. Anyways, it converted me to a southern belle off the bat.
