Five Friday Happies

It's Friday and I'm feeling super happy & thankful today!
Hope you are too!

This week definitely had some downs that were as always overshadowed by the ups - can't complain too much about that, right? I'm really looking forward to the weekend ahead!

But before moving forward, I'm going to celebrate 5 things that brought me happiness this week! I think it's important never to forget to pause and reflect on positive things in your life, rather than getting caught up in the negative! Catch my drift?!

So without further ado,
Five Friday Happies!

1.) Little Miss Stella had a much needed visit to the groomer this week! After 2 years, I still can't decide if I like her disheveled look or her prim and proper look better. That being said, she is half poodle, and anyone that has a poodle know their hair is prone to some nasty knots... so prim and proper it is every 6 weeks!

2.) Without sounding like too much of a weirdo, I think it's kind of cool to have a tropical storm named after me! I haven't come across too many other Andreas in my life, so it's pretty cool when your name gets a little bit of recognition. The downside, it's gets recognition in the form of a tropical storm bringing crappy weather and rain to the East Coast... sorry! But there is an upside...

3.) I do not have a "green thumb" as they say, but I love love love flowers and the happiness they bring! A few week ago I decided to try my hand at succulent gardening and now that we've hit the 1 month mark without any deaths, I'm proud to say my succulent garden is thriving! I know what you're thinking - succulents are very easy to grow and really only need to be watered like 1-2 times a month. It's fool proof, just the way I like it!

4.) The lovely Kait over at Gridiron Lipstick has been killing me this week with her food instagrams! My super sweet tooth couldn't resist the Frosted Brown Sugar Cookie recipe she posted - and I literally made them within hours of receiving the recipe from her! I love someone who is willing to share a good recipe with you, those are the people I like to keep around. These cookies were so delicious & my whole family approved! The sign of a good cookie? They disappear before you can take any pictures of them, so I'll just borrow Kait's (check out her food porn here) - her presentation is much better than mine was anyway!

5.) I have some really fun trips coming up at the end of June and July and simply the thought of that makes me one happy lady! I'm most looking forward to some time in Key West to visit my younger brother who is doing an internship there, lucky guy. Then there's our yearly extended family trip to the Jersey Shore where 20+ of us (aunts, uncles, cousins, pop-pop) stuff ourselves into one house, laugh, eat delicious foods, and get tan together! Always one of my favs. Family is everything!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Enjoy every second!
I hope my tropical storm doesn't ruin any of your plans, East Coasters!

Linking up with Lindsey!

  1. You are just so sweet! Thank you! I'm thinking of doing a series on food and recipes, but I literally just throw things together sometimes and pray for the best! We will see :)

  3. I definitely do not have a green thumb either. I sadly even managed to kill my beautiful succulent. My friends tell me I'm only allowed to have fake plants from now on. :(
